After the first episode, I was kind of winding down my day and getting ready for bed, so the last thing I wanted to do was work up a sweat watching TV. So I sat down. And then I stayed sitting on my butt until I went to bed almost 2 hours later.
Okay, so I'm tired of being fat because I had kids. This is my documented journey to regain the body, health and confidence I had pre-baby. Join me for this adventure!

Day 24 - I think!
I started a few new things yesterday that were supposed to help me stay active all day long. I tried them out to kind of get a feel for how they would work and see if I needed to tweak the ideas at all.
I watched a couple episodes of that new show The Voice last night after the kids went to bed. Apparently I like that show. I started out standing in front of the computer and doing things like the grapevine, marching in place, and stepping from side to side while swinging my arms or stretching them out. At first, it was kind of fun. Then it got really boring. I had to wear my glasses since my computer screen is a pretty standard size. And since I was farther from it than normal, I had a hard time seeing it. That was actually pretty irritating to me. Not having to wear my glasses while watching TV is another reason I actually enjoy watching at the computer.

After the first episode, I was kind of winding down my day and getting ready for bed, so the last thing I wanted to do was work up a sweat watching TV. So I sat down. And then I stayed sitting on my butt until I went to bed almost 2 hours later.
It started off pretty great, but I think I'm going to need to work up to standing and moving around while watching TV. I also was thinking about getting something I can use as a step and start doing some step exercises to make it more interesting. I looked around and tried my step stool, but the first step is a little higher than I would need. Well, anyway, we'll try again today if I get to watch anything today.
The other thing I started keeping track of was how many times I scale the staircase. I had no idea how many times I actually went up and down throughout the day on a regular basis. Well, yesterday I cleaned only the downstairs, so my need to go upstairs wasn't as much as normal. But I still trekked up and down 14 times without adding any just for fun. (haha- what an idea!) I think that's pretty good considering I had to run up about 4 of them because of a crying baby on the monitor. So, today I will shoot for clearing 15 times and then tomorrow 16. I think I'll add one each day to improve my endurance and activity. It was kind of fun seeing - in tallies - my up and down count.
I didn't eat as well as I would have like to yesterday, though. I ate enough times, sure, and I ate pretty decent things that fall under my diet terms. But I never took the time to actually make a 'meal', so I felt deprived all day. I kept adding things like another string cheese or a juice pop made with real apple juice. I also ate an extra in-between meal of roast beef, 1/4 cucumber, an orange and another string cheese.
All in all it wasn't terrible, but I really have to make sure I'm not just "snacking" all the time and I make a full meal so that I feel full longer. I started today with a Power bar. Again, not quite what I'm talking about, but it was everything I could do just to eat that. I'm pretty tired today because Dominic had a hard time sleeping for any amount of time last night. I think he's teething and it's tough on him. Which by extension makes it tough on me!
