Out of the Gate

So, I've made a few small changes to the things I've been eating. (or lack thereof) My little one is nursing still, as he is only 2 months old, and he developed a really bad case of thrush. I'm assuming it's my fault since I went on a cookie binge the last time I was visiting family in Vegas. Anyway, one of the things you have to do to get rid of it is adjust what you're eating and cut out some crucial things that make thrush worse. Namely, milk, sugar, calcium supplements and white bread. Well, aside from the calcium supplements, that pretty much cut out my entire diet. Talk about doing a 180 right from the get-go!

Regardless if it's by choice or by necessity, I've changed my diet dramatically. It's been really hard, but I've already noticed some things. One, I have NO energy! Apparently, I was gleaning all my energy from quick supplies of sugar periodically throughout the day. I was not aware of this in the least. I thought, at least overall, I had a pretty decent diet.

Second, I am SO hungry all day long. since it's been really hard for me to find things that sound appetizing to me sans sugar and white bread, I've resorted to the large case of oranges we got at Costco last time we were there. AWESOME, by the way! I didn't realize how much I enjoyed oranges. But I've been noshing on nuts, fruits and corn dogs. The corn dogs are because I'm still getting used to trying to eat a little a lot of times throughout the day and they are within reach and only take a minute to prepare. I'm still working on that.

But as I've just gotten started, I'm going to post all my measurements as of today to have a jumping off point. I am going to use the same scale so that I get an accurate assessment of the changes I'll be making. I'm not necessarily concerned so much that it's a true measurement, as long as I use the same constant.

This morning, the scale said that I weigh a whopping 243 lbs. Let me give you an idea of how sad this makes me. Before I got pregnant with my daughter in 2007, I was a size 4 and weighed in at 135 lbs. I have gained an entire person in the course of 4 years. That's pretty sad. Here are the rest of my measurements:

Upper arm 16"
Wrist 7"
Chest 40"
Bust 43"
Waist 47"
Hips/Butt 52"
Thigh 31"
Above Knee 23"
Ankle 10"
I wear a size 18w jeans (as long as they have a comfort stretch waistband), a 1x shirt and size 8 shoes.

This will be what I compare each subsequent posts to in order to find progress.

As you can tell, I'm not thrilled about adding these pictures. I'll add better ones when my husband gets home.
